One of our very favorite things about South Boston is the way in which sustaining a sense of community is a priority for residents, local business owners, and people who work here. Throughout the year, South Boston finds way to celebrate this community spirit.
The South Boston Street Festival kicks off the fall season with a day-long celebration of so much in which Southie takes pride: On Saturday, September 19th, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, East Broadway (between I and L Streets) will become the site of a host of children’s activities and entertainment, live music on two stages, dance performances, and special offers from local merchants and artists. Arrive ready to play, partake of great food and drink, browse inside cool boutiques, learn about the work of local organizations, and mix and mingle with your neighbors!
Musical performances will feature Adam Herbert’s Sinatra Band, Thomas Park (South Boston-based cover band whose repertory includes rock, R&B, and top 40 hits), to Parents Choice award-winner Karen K and the Jitterbugs, and many other ensembles.
With more than 70 vendors – everything from Zip Cars to ABCD South Boston Headstart, and dozens of restaurants, shops, and non-profit organizations in between – this 16th annual edition of the South Boston Street Festival promises to be a winner.
